“Friends From College” – New York Airplane Set

Looking back on some of the fun jobs we’ve gotten to be a part of, we remembered a Netflix series that was canceled too soon, Friend From College.

Did you know, that while most of our sets are in Los Angeles, we have a set in the New York area? You can learn more by clicking here.

For Friends in College specifically – their team used our New York-based Narrowbody Plane Set and service area. Take a look below at star Cobie Smulders sitting in our Tombo seats.

And, as always, here are some shots from behind the scenes:

If you have some time, give the show a viewing, the only 2 seasons are now streaming. But first, check out the trailer below.

Hulu’s “The Dropout” Finale

The incredible story of Elizabeth Holmes and her company, Theranos, was brought to life by Hulu in their hit show The Dropout. Amanda Seyfried does an amazing job capturing Elizabeth’s demeanor and that deep voice she is so famous for. This Thursday, the series comes to a conclusion – how do you think it will end?

We had the pleasure of hosting the cast and crew in North Hollywood in August 2021. They came into work on both our Narrowbody Rolling set & our G3 private jet. Take a look below at some of the things you got to see while watching the show.

Now for all of the cinephiles out there, take a look at some of the things you didn’t get to see behind the camera:

BTS: “Sweet Girl” Airplane Set

Yesterday, we brought you the behind the scenes photos of our airplane set for Yellowjackets, see here

Today, we wanted to bring attention to the Netflix feature film, Sweet Girl, which premiered in August 2021. For this project, we packed up our Narrow Body Kit set and shipped it off to Pittsburgh, PA, in the dead of winter.

Here are some shots from the actual film:

And now, take a look at some of our favorite shots that you didn’t get to see on the screen.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with the Sweet Girl synopsis, see below:

Devoted family man Ray Cooper (Jason Momoa), vows justice against the pharmaceutical company responsible for pulling a potentially life-saving drug from the market just before his wife (Adria Arjona) dies from cancer. But when his search for the truth leads to a deadly encounter that puts Ray and his daughter Rachel (Isabela Merced) in harm’s way, Ray’s mission turns into a quest for vengeance in order to protect the only family he has left.

BTS: YellowJackets Plane Set

We’d like to share some behind-the-scenes photos of some of the incredible shows our plane sets have gotten to work on here at Aero Mock-Ups.

In December 2019, a pilot was shot for what would become Showtime’s hit show, Yellowjackets. We were contacted to supply the airplane set, and jumped at the chance.

We packed up our Narrowbody Rolling set and shipped it less than a mile to a warehouse in North Hollywood. While there, their incredible crew built our set out on a gimbal that was about 30 feet in the air!

Little did we know that the show would be such a hit, or even win star Melanie Lynskey a Critics Choice Award.

Take a look below at some of the work that went on before filming started.
